ARTIST STATEMENT:

I started photographing iconic Richmond signs in the early 1990's.  While working as a designer for a sign company I became aware of the treasures in the Richmond cityscape.  So, to honor the creators of great signage, I painted many of the images I photographed, and then eventually made selected prints.
