ARTIST STATEMENT:

"I believe a painter gathers the light from the world around her and layers that energy within the picture field.  My goal is to spark a connection between the viewer and nature by capturing the essence of the ‘spirit-out-there’ and rendering it in sparse imagery surrounded by plenty of atmosphere.  The images I use on the canvas are elements found in nature but work abstractly in a color field, separate from their literal meanings.  The borders add to an anti-gravity quality.  Painting is a process that is moved by intuition rather than planning, then I step back and assess to what place I have come."
